It's loud. Real compressors are, and anything that moves air this fast makes noise. It runs for about ninety seconds on a low tire and then it stops itself. We'd rather tell you now than have it surprise you in your driveway.
It needs charging every few months. Not often — it holds its charge well. But check it twice a year, the way you'd check a smoke alarm. Keeping it in the door pocket instead of the trunk is what makes this easy to remember.
A completely flat tire takes longer. If you're going from zero rather than topping up from 28 PSI, expect several minutes and possibly a short pause. That's true of everything this size.
Below freezing, you'll get fewer starts per charge. That's lithium batteries, not a defect. Keep it charged going into winter and you'll be fine.

I've never used anything like this. Is it complicated?
No. For the tire: screw it on, press “car,” press start. For the battery: red clip, black clip, one button. There are no settings you need to understand and nothing you can break by pressing the wrong thing. The instructions we include are written in plain English — which, having read what usually ships with these, we felt was worth doing properly.
How big is it, really?
It fits in one hand. Think a large phone, but thicker — it sits comfortably in a glovebox or a door pocket.
Is something this small actually powerful enough?
For a low tire and a dead car battery, yes — comfortably. What small devices usually get wrong is heat: they run for a minute and shut off. This one has a cooling fan, which is what lets it finish the job. If you need to fill four completely flat truck tires every weekend, buy a workshop compressor instead.
Where do people keep it?

Will it work if my tire is completely flat?
Yes, but it takes longer — several minutes rather than ninety seconds, and it may need a short pause. Important: if the tire went flat suddenly, or you can hear air escaping, or you can see damage, don't drive on it. Air won't fix a hole. Call for help.
Does it work in cold weather?
Yes, with a caveat worth knowing: lithium batteries hold less charge when it's very cold, so below freezing you'll get fewer jump starts per charge. Go into winter with it fully charged and you'll be fine. That's physics, not a fault — it's true of every device like this, including the expensive ones.
What if my battery is completely dead, not just weak?
It handles a normal dead battery — lights left on, door ajar overnight, a car that sat for a few weeks. If a battery is genuinely failed rather than discharged, no jump starter will fix it and you need a new battery.
Can I use it on my other car? My daughter's car?
Yes. It's not tied to a vehicle. Plenty of people buy a second one to leave in a family member's car.
